Rooibos Extract

$4.95

The combination of unfermented raw materials and gentle processing guarantees the complete spectrum of active ingredients in Rooibos Extract and makes it an interesting component for new cosmetic products.

Aspalathus linearis is a leguminous herb native to the South African Cedarberg Mountains. Its leaves and stems are used for the production of rooibos tea which enjoys a rapidly growing popularity even in European countries. Rooibos tea is a health beverage without harmful stimulants and totally free from caffeine.

Our Rooibos Extract shows anti-allergenic and anti-inflammatory effects and protects the skin against oxidative stress (anti-ageing effect). These health properties are ascribed to the high level of antioxidants, minerals and polyphenols. The most important active substance is the flavanoid aspalathin. The main target to develop our unique Rooibos Extract was to make the true complete spectrum of valuable rooibos ingredients available for your cosmetic applications. Because fermentation destroys approx 90 % of the aspalathin content, our Rooibos Extract is exclusively made from unfermented raw materials.

GSN's Rooibos Extract contains the complete original spectra of active ingredients because it is manufactured by a gentle ethanol?water extraction procedure in combination with a special vacuum drying process.
